Eden Valley Riesling 2023

The 2023 vintage was preceded by a cool and wet growing season. Vintage was long and late permitting good but challenging ripening conditions with disease pressure never too far from mind. After being harvested from the Mason, Schubert and Stephens family vineyards, the grapes were processed immediately to avoid extended skin contact. As is the Vickery way, winemaker Keeda Zilm also incorporated pressings material in the final blend to add flavour and texture to the wine. The initial cut is taken a lot earlier than normal to retain flavour without extracting bitter phenolics. The blend was fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel to maintain freshness.
